The Play:
The Vagina Monologues is a powerful play that looks at what it means to identify as a female in our modern world. It sheds light upon different aspects of the feminine experience, including orgasm, rape, menstruation, female genital mutilation and birth, as well as women’s relationship with their own bodies and their sexuality.
The Basel
The Vagina Monologues has never been performed in Basel, and will make its

debut in the city in February 2017. This is a community project, bringing together more than 20 women from various nationalities and backgrounds. Some of these women are professionally trained actresses, while others have never set foot on stage before. Each and every one of them brings her own unique beauty, power and wisdom to the production.
V-DAY:
This production forms part of V-DAY 2017. V-DAY is a global movement to end violence against women and girls (www.vday.org). Our production will benefit a local charity in Basel which supports vulnerable women.
