The fact that we need to change our lives is now a daily reminder of the seriousness of our plight - whether it is invoked in terms of the climate, work or education. But is there a fundamental demand beyond that - one that people place on themselves to change their own lives? Could it be that this demand is even the crucial imperative of being human? No matter where the call to change one’s own life comes from, it remains to be clarified how this can be achieved in community with others.
About the person
Peter Sloterdijk, born in Karlsruhe in 1947, is one of the most renowned philosophers and essayists in the German language. He was Professor of Philosophy and Aesthetics at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design and its Rector. Together with Rüdiger Safranski, he hosted the ZDF program “Das Philosophische Quartett”. He has received numerous awards for his work, which is published by Suhrkamp Verlag.
