About the person
Beat Jans, born in Basel in 1964, is a trained farmer, a qualified TTL agricultural engineer and a graduate environmental scientist from ETH Zurich. As a former SP National Councillor, President of the Forum for Sustainability in Switzerland and current President of the Government of the City of Basel, he is a formative figure in the Swiss political landscape.
