Who doesn’t want to survive their own death? And who hasn’t already survived the death of someone they knew, loved or cared about? The question of life and death is as old as humankind itself - and yet for each person the confrontation with it is always new. Reason enough ever and again to revisit the question of living with death and that of the “die-and-develop” aspect of life.
About the person
Wilhelm Schmid, born in 1953, lives as a freelance philosopher in Berlin. He studied philosophy and history in Berlin, Paris and Tübingen, taught at various universities and worked for many years as a “philosophical counselor” at Affoltern am Albis Hospital. He has published numerous bestsellers, including most recently “Surviving death. On dealing with the incomprehensible” (2024).
