Thinking is an intimate business that only individuals can ever carry out. But thinking, of all things, is existentially dependent on others: on a counterpart who agrees, disagrees, stimulates, questions. How can such thinking succeed with others? How can it be practiced? The practice of thinking not only determines how we understand the world, but also how we live together with others in the world.
