“Who cleans the cleaning lady’s apartment?” asks Teresa Bücker, in order to point out the shortcomings of failed time politics and to place a feminist perspective on politics, care work and political engagement at the center of the debate. On 20.03.2023, Teresa Bücker was a guest at UM Politics Talks to talk about her new book “Alle_Zeit - Eine Frage von Macht und Freiheit” [“Forever - A Question of Power and Freedom”].
The compatibility of work, family and leisure time has become an intergenerational issue of contention. Reports of rising burnout figures are becoming increasingly common, while at the same time the younger generations are accused of no longer being performance-oriented. These debates are always about time and power and how they are distributed. Who has how much time and for what? We explore this question with Teresa Bücker and look for ways out of the structural lack of time.
