Social sculpture as a vision of social transformation
Joseph Beuys formulated the idea of “social sculpture” as an understanding of art that not only aims to create artistic works, but also sees society and its design itself as a work of art. “Through Beuys, I learned that there is an inner creativity in everyone, something that calls them to do something and become creatively active,” says Walter Kugler, a companion of Joseph Beuys.
