Open House

The former headquarters of the Schweizerische Volksbank date back to 1912. Centrally located opposite the main post office and within walking distance of the town hall, today’s «Unternehmen Mitte» is the largest coffee house in Switzerland. On five floors, an organically grown transformation from bank to gastronomy is visible: There is the former bank safe, in which money and gold were stored and there are the treasures of the present – the fruits of the earth. Unternehmen Mitte is coffee house and facilitates cultural impulse at the same time. From here the popular initiative for a basic income was launched, here the new form of ownership «Purpose Economy» is lived and the foundational stone for the society of the 21st century is laid.
